Wednesday

Hi My Name is Sarah.
I have a small problem with my brain, and I was abandoned as a very small baby. Perhaps my first
family was scared, or did not have the means to look after me. My challenges
mean I am always going to need people to care for me.
I am growing now and have fun with my Ayis, I like it when they sing and we can
make a noise too and join in the fun. I like to eat, and they cook good food here
for us every day. We get lots of treats and nice clothes to wear. Some lovely
people have even made warm quilts for us to snuggle in.
I am a happy baby and would love to have a new mum and dad.

I also have lots of brothers and sisters living here with me – together with our
Ayis, we are family to each other. Some days we go out in to the garden and enjoy
the trees, and some days we play at home.

Babies needing a loving home

This is Sarah.

This is Little Swallow.
This is Hannah.

Each of these girls came to Butterfly Home for palliative care. Now we are working on getting their papers ready for adoption. What a great result. From once being told they had no future, now we look forward to hearing that these precious girls have families who can't wait to come get them. Now that will be a day for rejoicing!

Higher

High up all over the Changsha city these boxes are covered with a cheap metal cage, we are in for @the Wonderful City award!

Its Saturday

Like most days here in China...... there much the same as any other day, the babies need feeding, washing, walking and being entertained. Oh and we get deliveries!
Went out with Hannah today to get some medicines, a lady who cooks food in a little store always says Ni Hao, today she gave Hannah some corn, and Hannah enjoyed it.

Help needed

Nurses wanted!
Looking for a chance to make a difference?
We have started working in a state run orphanage to care for abandoned children with a life expectancy of under 6 months. Many of these children respond to good basic care and love and go on to live longer happy lives. We are able to give loving palliative care to those whose lives are short.
We are looking for nurses to join us so that we can expand the service to families with dying children to bring them hope and comfort in often desperate situations.

These are voluntary positions and for a minimum commitment of six months we can offer sponsorship to cover the costs of a visa, accommodation, living allowance and language lessons.

August 26th 2011

Today we have been open 18 months and find ourselves in temporary accommodation! We have 13 cots open and unable (due to space) to open more. We moved here from the 2nd Floor of the Butterfly Home some two months ago, we were asked to move with just 10 days notice! Nothing has happened on the floor we did have, just collecting dust and the contractors have now been replaced….were waiting to see what will happen next. We were initially told we would be three months, maybe another six months before we return to the Butterfly Home.
